About Gilles Paquin
Gilles began his career in entertainment in the mid-1970's as a highly successful concert and special events producer and promoter, initially on his own and later with Nite Out Entertainment. During this period Gilles worked with an assortment of international superstars including Billy Joel, Alabama, Muddy Waters, David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Tony Bennett, and Jim Carrey, to name a few.
In the mid 1980's Gilles established Paquin Entertainment Group Inc. based in Winnipeg, Canada. As its President and CEO, Gilles oversees every aspect of operations, whether creative, logistical or financial. As a result of Gilles' drive, enthusiasm and experience, Paquin Entertainment has evolved into a diversified entertainment enterprise comprised of four distinct divisions: Artist Management, Agency, Special Events and Film & Television. In 1999, the company opened its Toronto office.
Over the years Gilles has and continues to personally manage the careers of some of Canada's greatest treasures such as Randy Bachman, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Fred Penner. Gilles also co-manages "Bachman-Cummings" with associate, Lorne Saifer. Paquin Entertainment's Agency division, which is headed by Gilles' son, Julien, in Toronto, represents an impressive roster of over 100 Artists, including acts such as Corb Lund, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Tegan & Sara, Road Hammers, Bachman-Cummings, Final Fantasy and The Sadies.
As an event producer, Gilles was the creative and production force behind the Golden Legacy Evening for the Queen's Jubilee visit to Winnipeg, the Family Farm Tribute in Toronto's Air Canada Centre, and the Winnie the Pooh Friendship Day, to name just a few, and he will be producing the forthcoming James Richardson & Sons, Limited 150th Anniversary Gala which will take place in six Canadian cities simultaneously! His credits as film/tv producer/executive producer include (among others) feature films Hide and Seek starring Daryl Hannah and Jennifer Tilly, The Clown at Midnight starring Christopher Plummer, Margot Kidder and James Duval, and tv programs Bachman-Cummings: First Time Around, Leo Mol In Light and Shadow and Buffy Sainte-Marie: A Multimedia Life. He has recently wrapped production on five feature-length horror films for television filmed this past spring and fall.
Gilles also heads KOBA Family Entertainment, with partner Patti Caplette at the helm as Artistic Director.
