PAQUIN SHINES AT CCMA's
Canada's biggest country stars were shining in Winnipeg during 2008's Canadian Country Music Week. The very busy week was full of numerous reasons to celebrate for Paquin Entertainment.
Congratulations to Corb Lund, who was awarded his fifth straight CCMA award for Roots Artist of the Year for his latest album, Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier! (Stony Plain Records). Closing the televised ceremony, rock legend Randy Bachman with Beverley Mahood and Deric Ruttan delivered an unforgettable performance of Randy's classic tracks, "Prairie Town" and "Takin' Care of Business." Not to be overlooked, Prairie Oyster was honoured for their contributions to Canadian country music with an induction into the CCMA Hall of Fame.
To cap off a great week, Paquin Entertainment was pleased to receive the award for Agency of the Year during the industry gala. Agency of The Year, replacing the Agent of the Year award, is a fine addition to the previous awards given to Julien Paquin, President of Paquin Entertainment's Agency division. Paquin Entertainment is proud to be a part of Canadian country music and wishes to congratulate all of our nominees and winners.

Tara Oram
From Canadian Idol contestant to CMT reality television star, Tara Oram seems poised for great things. Her efforts on Idol and The Tara Diaries have led to the exciting next chapter in her adventure, the release of her debut album Chasing The Sun (Open Road). Though rooted in country, Chasing The Sun has far broader appeal with songs drawing comparisons to strong female musicians like Kathleen Edwards and Patsy Cline.
