About
Originally from Lebanon and based in Montreal, Blynk, born Rawad El-Zein, is emerging as oneof the most promising new voices in the French-speaking music scene. Blending sensual R&B with a mix of Middle Eastern, French, and North American influences, he crafts a universe that is both intimate and impactful. The Montreal-based artist stands out for his distinctive, airy, and expressive vocal delivery, marked by refined breath control and a deep sensitivity in interpretation. Versatile by nature, Blynk adapts seamlessly to a wide range of musical productions, moving effortlessly from R&B to pop.
Invited to perform at the Francos de Montréal on the Desjardins Stage, as well as at Francofest Toronto during the summer of 2025, Blynk continues to solidify his presence on major stages across the province. Nominated at the 2025 ADISQ Gala, he is establishing himself as the future face of Quebec R&B. With a feature alongside Damso, collaborations with High Klassified, ZegP, Monsieur Nov, and Rnboi, as well as his work as a lyricist on Wejdene’s album, Blynk confirms his status as an international ambassador for Quebec’s R&B scene.
The connection with Damso marks a defining moment in his career. After discovering Blynk, Damso traveled to Montreal specifically to collaborate with him. More than a simple studio session, Blynk chose to spotlight his city by organizing a public gathering at Le Ninety, which reached full capacity. The space was transformed into a live musical laboratory, bringing together some of the province’s top beatmakers, including High Klassified and Freakey while hundreds of people lined up to witness this unique creative experience. During the session, Blynk and Damso invited the audience to sing the chorus with them, creating a powerful moment of shared intimacy between artists and spectators.
The event received praise from numerous media outlets, including Sors-tu.ca, Rolling Stone Québec, La Presse, and Radio-Canada, all highlighting its unprecedented and unifying nature. Simply titled MTL, the song perfectly embodies the contrast and complementarity of its creators. On one side, Damso’s signature dense and incisive writing; on the other, Blynk’s smooth vocals and melodic lifts, bringing a brighter and more romantic dimension. The result is a hybrid track, both raw and sensitive, that captures the energy of Montreal and the spontaneity of the moment. MTL has now surpassed 6 million streams across all platforms.
While Damso’s presence naturally draws attention, it is Blynk who emerges elevated from this collaboration. MTL acts as a true launchpad, placing him on the international radar alongside one of the most influential rappers in the French-speaking world. The song stands as one of the defining moments of Montreal’s musical year.
Following the release of his latest EP, Soft Boy Actif 2, Blynk hosted a listening party at Le Ninety, an iconic location already associated with the success of MTL. The event was supported by the premium spirits brand Hennessy, which enhanced the evening with a curated cocktail service, reinforcing both the upscale positioning and the welcoming atmosphere of the gathering. This collaboration further illustrates Blynk’s ability to unite high-profile partners around his artistic universe.
To date, Blynk’s latest project has surpassed 1 million total streams across all platforms, while the artist reaches nearly 440,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Blynk is ushering in a new era for R&B, not only in Quebec, but across the entire French-speaking world.
