About
Busty and the Bass is a collective of musicians whose electro/soul/hip-hop tinged with funk proves irresistible. Born following a jam at the McGill university setting, the group quickly made a name for itself, moving from private parties to major international stages in just a few months.
Renowned for their energetic and festive performances, the Montrealers quickly won recognition from the public and the industry thanks to their undeniable artistic qualities. With its two EPs (GLAM, Lift), Busty and the Bass performed shows in Canada and appeared at numerous renowned festivals (Osheaga Festival Musique et Arts, Festival d'été de Québec, Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Ottawa Bluesfest, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Canadian Music Week…). The collective also exports beyond its borders with several tours in the United States and Europe. The stage is thus ideally set for the release in fall 2017 of a debut album Uncommon Good produced by Grammy Award winner Neal Pogue (Outkast, Snoop Dogg, Eath Wind and Fire, M.I.A., Nicki Minaj, Aretha Franklin, Lil Wayne…). A winning association which continues with the release during the summer of 2020 of the album Eddie which also benefits from the executive production of Earth, Wind and Fire legend Verdine White and several prestigious collaborations including George Clinton and Macy Gray. Following the departure of an original member during the pandemic, Busty and the Bass recruited new voices (S.T.S., Mel Pacifico, Jordan Brown, Wayne Tennant) who revealed themselves on the EP Karneval released in 2022. A vocal richness that can be found again with the song All the Things I Couldn't Day to You announcing a new opus to be released in 2023.
