The Franklin Electric

Since the release of their debut album, This Is How I Let You Down (2014), The Franklin Electric has distinguished themselves by transforming experiences into anthems. With over 450 shows under their belt, the Montreal-based collective, led by Jon Matte, has toured the globe—alongside artists such as Mumford & Sons, Ben Howard, Half Moon Run, and City and Colour—and often as headliners. Along the way, their second album, Blue Ceilings (2017), made a significant impact, earning a Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year. Building on this momentum, The Franklin Electric released their EP duology, In Your Head (2019) / In Your Heart (2020), which has garnered over 4 million online streams for the single " In Your Heart " alone . The EP Never Look Back (2020) followed, earning a nomination at the ADISQ Gala in the "Album of the Year – Reinterpretation" category, and the album This Time I See It (2021). 2022 unfolded with the release of songs like Borderline , Answers , Rabbit Hole , Lesser of the Worst , and A Token of Your Purpose , which allowed the collective to triple its monthly listeners on online streaming platforms. This provided an ideal introduction to Oh Brother  (2023), a new chapter imbued with vulnerability in which Jon Matte opens up like never before. Nominated for "Show of the Year – Anglophone" at the 2024 ADISQ Gala, they released the EP Victory Songs Vol. 1 that same year , their most personal work to date.
